Kim and I spent our anniversary hiking in the Shenandoah National Park. We hiked a loop from up on Skyline drive down to Camp Hoover. I had never been there before, which is kind of hard to believe. The camp is very impressive and its easy to imagine what it would have been like for the president to entertain guests and escape from the hustle and bustle of DC. Not all the original buildings remain, but the ones that are there are kept up very well. Rangers stay on the premises and give guided tours both around the camp and inside the buildings. After some time playing in the creeks and inspecting the camp we headed back up the mountain to our car. We had a nice dinner of local trout at Skyland before heading back to Winchester in an absolute downpour.
