This Sunday we had a very unusual break in the two weeks of rain that we've been enduring. So we decided to run out to Old Rag and hike the loop. It was my first time on a big hike since breaking my leg and things went really well. Good news, cause in three weeks or so we are headed out west to visit the Grand Canyon and a bunch of other cool spots in Utah and Colorado. So I need to be in shape!
There were A LOT of people hiking the mountain. We arrived at the parking lot at 8:30am and it was half full. Bummer. When I was a kid there might have been a dozen cars at Old Rag on any given weekend day. At least we beat the bulk of the crowds, when we got back down the parking lot was completely full and folks were being forced to use the private lot next door, which charges $10 a car.
